Art for Aid is a collective fundraising collaboration. Artists, curators, and creatives are joining forces with Perth Doctors for Medical Aid for Palestine. Through an exhibition and auction, we are planning to raise funds for trusted medical and humanitarian organisations responding to the ongoing devastation in Gaza.
Right now Gaza is facing a man-made famine. A blockade on humanitarian and essential food aid is deliberately starving the population. Over one million children are at risk of imminent death. Healthcare workers are now too weak to care for their patients.
Thanks to your support, Perth Doctors Medical Aid for Palestine recently sent $20,000 in donations to help purchase what limited supplies remain to feed the hungry. A 25kg bag of flour now costs over $500 USD. The scale of suffering is immense, and entirely preventable.
We urge you to support our fundraising efforts. Every contribution helps. Speak out. Demand action. Do not wait until there is no one left to save.

All proceeds go directly to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), a UK-registered charity delivering essential medical care through locally led health services. MAP has a longstanding presence in Gaza and a clear mandate to provide ethical, needs-based humanitarian assistance in partnership with Palestinian organisations.
This project emerged from a belief in the power of creative and medical communities to respond with clarity and care to injustice. We aim to mobilise the visibility, networks, and resources of both sectors to contribute in a practical and principled way to urgent relief efforts. At the same time, we recognise the long history of artists and health workers standing in solidarity against violence, dispossession, and erasure.
We welcome donations of artwork for inclusion in the Art for Aid exhibition and auction. Contributions from artists are the foundation of this fundraiser and directly support medical and humanitarian relief in Gaza.
The watermelon has become a symbol of Palestinian resistance and identity. Its relevance stems from the fact that its red, green, black, and white colours match those of the Palestinian flag. After the flag was banned by Israeli authorities in various times and places (including in occupied territories), Palestinians began using the image of a watermelon as a subtle and creative form of defiance.
Over time, the watermelon has come to represent:
